If you think selling on places like Craigs List is a waste of time. You could not be more wrong. I get just as many sales from there as I do Facebook or posting in other sales groups.
Whether you are selling an animal or product there are a few areas you need to think about before you list the item or product on one of these sites that are

A Simple But Self Explaining Title For The Ad
If I see an ad that says calves for sale I probably won’t stop and look at it.
But if I see the breed, price, and age I might go look even if I am not in the market for a calf. You want people to read it quickly and pull them in. You should see something like this.
Miniature Jersey heifer, $950
It tells me the breed, a rough age (heifer) and the price. Cute phrases don’t get buyers’ attention.
Do Not Forget The Image
I cannot tell you how much impact this will do for your sales! An image is a MUST. When you are going through listings, which catch your attention? Which ones do you stop to read?
The ones with pictures or the ones without? That’s what I thought
Personally, I when am looking through the ads I only look at the listings with an image. If I don’t see what that item looks like, it makes me think “what is that person trying to hide?” Or they were too lazy to take a picture So why should I give them my money?
Adding the image helps the buyer feel confident that you are selling something in good condition and not fudging the actual description.
Have Lots Of Detail In Your Sales Post
The more information you can post on an ad you will cut back on the not so serious buyers. Some might not be very serious but are willing to ask just to find out the answer even if they won’t buy.
Also, think of things you are not willing to do. Things like drive chickens to someone who will only be paying you $30. This is a defiant no. You are wasting money and your time.
You can add text like “pick up only” if you don’t want people to ask you to meet.
If they really want it they will drive for it.
Alow For Texting
You might be hesitant to give out your number and I compliantly understand. But this will get you far more sales then saying calls or emails only.
There are many times when people can shoot off
Tips: You are always building the know, like, and trust factor. The more you can tell people the closer you are to winning their trust. If you are selling on a regular basis be consistent. If you have a website put it in the ad. When people can see more info about you or even a face if you have a website. They will choose you over someone else.
