We’ve all got dreams. Dreams of paying off your house, starting that business, or being able to buy that little something you want from the store.
That fact of the matter is that you can keep wishing and saying “someday” but that is all it will be if you don’t take action on your dreams.

Rather than just wishing things would be different, take action.
Make Sure You Really Do Want It
Sometimes the things we think we want are maybe not worth the price. Its easy to say you want a business but are you willing to give up the “fun times” to work on your business and make it grow?
Are you willing to hold to a strict schedule so you can get to sleep on time?
The grass that is the greenest and thickest had the most crap spread on it.
That does not mean it has to be a hard time to reach your dream goals. You just have to be willing to spread on the nutrient to make your dream goals grow.
Lock & Load
When you are ready to hit the road, set your eyes on your target and with lazar-like focus. Be so committed that nothing can blast you lose.
Does that mean everything will happen quickly or in your timing? Maybe…
But also it might not and that is something you should be prepared for.
To reach your dream goals there has to be a lot of planning and preparation first. Nothing happens by accident.
The Powersheets goal planner is what helps me dig deep and find what I truly want out of life. It helps you break down your goals and take action on them with monthly email check-ins and a Facebookgroup.
Start With The Big Picture
What are your dreams? Where do you see yourself next year or even five years from now?
Is it staying home with your kids while bringing in a second income for your family? Are you dreaming of being known in your industry? Maybe you want to pay off debt and make your life better than the status quo.
Write down your dream.
I am sure you have dreams of where you see yourself in the near or even distant future but how do you get there?
I learned this from the creator of the goal planner PowerSheets that you need a goal refresh or reminder every 90 days. It’s not enough to say I want to do x this year and never look at it again. That is why people love to create vision boards.
So with that said, I want you to write down all of the details about the life you dream of living. Where will you be, what will your finances look like? Write down every last detail that would make your dreams complete.
Be willing to change.
Whatever you right down remember these dreams might change. We as normal humans grow as life changes us.
Change (as much as I don’t want to admit it) is inevitable and comes as we travel through life. Don’t hold so tight to these dreams that they end up holding you back. You could end up with something very different than you first thought.
Break’em Down
Take that big dream you wrote out and break it down. What needs to be done to make the big picture happen.
Is it paying off debt or saving for a new home? Maybe you are growing your business to enable a spouse to have the job or career they want.
This is where your dreams go from this cloudy image that you can barely see. To being able to touch them, hold them in your heart, and fight for them. These actions steps make them a real possibility, not just a dream.
If you need help breaking down anything into smaller bitesize chunks then read this post about how to break down projects.

Break the steps down into tasks.
I don’t care how small it is. If you need to look up a how-to video to get some tech help I want you to list that out. If you need to choose a paint color, look up inspirational ideas, or choose the type of paper your invitations need to be printed on… WRITE IT DOWN.
Here is what a list should look like if you are planning on painting a room.
- Look up color inspo on Pinterest or your favorite home decor blog.
- Go to the store to get color swatches and bring them home to see if you like them in your home.
- Check to see what painting supplies you have such as drop cloths, brushes, painters tape, ext.
- Make a list of the supplies you need.
- Buy the supplies you need.
- Choose the best day to start the project.
- Clear out the room or cover everything to protect it from paint.
- Tape up the room.
- Prime the room (if needed)
- Trim with the new color.
- Roller on the new color.
- Check if a second coat of paint is needed.
- Take down the painter’s tape.
- Put the room back together.
Ok, so that list is pretty long for what seems like a basic task. But if you have this list made out, it gives you are clear visual about what needs to be done and a realistic view of how long it could take.

Cutting Out What Is Not Moving The Needle
Take a look at where you are now.
Is there anything you are currently doing that is not helping you get to where you want to be? It can be hard to let things go but if you do. You will see much greater and faster success.
It may not be a bad thing but if you cut the “extras” that are taking up your time you will get to your dream goals much faster.
Just remember that as you work through your goals. Your journey will look different than someone else’s. You will work with far less stress if you put your blinders on and work toward your goals and ignore what others are doing.
Just found your lovely site. I have already seen a couple things that peaked my interest so look for me to be back.
