If you raise animals you need a chore coat. Whether you live in the north or the south we all have a cold season that leaves us with what feels like 19 layers trying to stay warm and also praying we don’t snag our winter coats on a nail that is sticking out that we didn’t see.
With me spending 90% of my chore time around wire cages. Mercy that is just begging for a snag.
I recently bought a nice long (past my booty) puffer coat and I was wearing it down to do chores. Thankfully it made it out alive but I was begging for a tear in the sleeve and I would probably have sat down and cried.
After that, I decided It might be helpful for you to find some coats that are warm but will put up with some rough handling.

Best Chore Coats On Amazon
Here are my top favorite finds from amazon that have a strong durable outside fabric. I will also share some that are a little softer on the outside if you don’t have quite as much danger of the chore coat tearing.
Berne Women’s Washed Hooded Coat
We often think of Carhartt when we think of durable chore coats but gosh they are pricy. Berne as well as a few others do just as well and are not going to break the bank.
This chore coat is lined with a hood.
WenVen Women’s Winter Thickened Warm Sherpa Lined Hooded Cotton Jacket
I’m not going to give this one as high of a rating in the strength category as the dickies or Carhartt coats. It is more of a jean level. However, it defiantly gets high marks for warmth.
Dickies Women’s Duck Sherpa Lined Chore Coat
This would make a great chore coat because of all the pockets. It is a little longer too so for my taller ladies that is defiantly a plus in my book.

Carhartt Women’s Sherpa Lined Sandstone Sierra Jacket (Regular and Plus Sizes)
If you have the budget, getting a Carhartt for your chore coat would be totally worth it. This coat is extremely well lined and if warmth is your goal then this will do the trick.
Lighter Weight Chore Jackets
Here are some core coats that are not lined but still have that strong outer layer that will help protect your cloths from getting torn.
Amazon Essentials Women’s Utility Jacket
No matter which one you get finding a good chore coat is going to be worth its weight in gold. Also, remember that these will last a really long time. I as well as my husband have had all of our work coats (all different brands) for ten years or better.
